Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using OnyeshaMessage ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the app.

OnyeshaMessage is an Android application that reads M-PESA confirmation messages already received on your device and reformats them into a clean payment screen, showing details such as the amount paid, recipient, transaction ID, and date, while leaving out sensitive information like your account balance. The app is designed to help you show proof of payment without handing over your messaging app or exposing unrelated messages.

OnyeshaMessage is completely free to download and use. Specifically:

• The app does not display any advertisements, sponsored or otherwise.
• The app does not offer any in-app purchases.
• The app does not have any paid plans or subscriptions.

Every feature currently available in the app is provided at no cost to you. If this ever changes in the future, we will update this page and be transparent about it beforehand.

When using OnyeshaMessage, you agree that you will:

• Only use the app to view and present payment confirmations for transactions you were actually party to.
• Not use the app to alter, falsify, or misrepresent the contents of a genuine M-PESA message, or to create misleading proof of payment.
• Use the app in compliance with applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

The payment screens generated by the app are a reformatted view of a message already on your device — they are intended to make that information easier to read and share, not to replace it as an official record.

The app requests permission to read SMS messages on your device in order to find and display M-PESA confirmations. Details on what the app can access, what is collected, and how it's handled are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

OnyeshaMessage is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Safaricom PLC or M-PESA. "M-PESA" is a trademark of its respective owner, referenced here only to describe the messages the app helps you present. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or content of M-PESA messages themselves — the app only reformats what your device has already received.

OnyeshaMessage is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will correctly parse every message format at all times. You use the app at your own discretion.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OnyeshaMessage and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including any dispute that arises from a payment confirmation shown through the app.

We may update the app or these Terms of Service from time to time to add features, fix issues, or clarify our practices. If we make material changes to these terms, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

You may stop using OnyeshaMessage at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

We may stop distributing the app, remove it from the Play Store, or stop releasing updates for it at our discretion. However, OnyeshaMessage works offline and we do not have the ability to remotely disable, restrict, or remove a copy of the app that is already installed on your device.
